It is named after the first political leader of Espita, a native of Izamal, who was appreciated for his governance and construction of public works. The site features a high roof that stands out like a yellow-coloured castle tower, and wrought-iron balconies next to the fountain. Inside, starting from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, you can find vendors selling fruits, vegetables, panuchos, tortas, tacos, and on Sundays, there is the sale of lechon and cochinita. Meanwhile, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, you will find street food vendors offering Yucatecan snacks and traditional cooks from the region who offer salbutes, panuchos, cochinita pibil, and the famous kots'ob, which is part of the gastronomic offering of Espita. It is made by a group of women and men who strive to preserve and keep alive the traditional recipes of the Maya region.
