Known as \"franc\u00e9s\" or egg bread, this is a savoury bread very similar to a French baguette. On the outside, it has the texture of a golden sponge cake, while the inside is soft. These breads originated in the municipality of Panab\u00e1, and although the exact baker who created them is unknown, there are accounts from the locals indicating that a baker made this incredible bread and taught others who worked with him, and they continued its creation. Others mention that the late Gualberto P\u00e9rez was one of the bakers remembered by the townspeople for making this egg bread with a yellow colour, as he added more eggs to the original recipe, giving it the beautiful hue. This recipe has been shared with various bakers who proudly sell it in the streets of the town early in the morning. The aroma and taste make it a favourite among adults, youth, and children. Currently, the egg bread is sold in its classic version, as well as a special version that includes concentrated egg and milk to give it a more golden texture. Traditionally, it is made with flour, lard, and eggs. You can buy it in the bakeries of Panab\u00e1 or from the mobile bakery service and enjoy it with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
