The traditional market of Tecoh was inaugurated on May 1, 1923, by the then-governor Felipe Carrillo Puerto. It is named after Garc\u00eda Buela, a person who donated the land for the construction of the market and who worked in the municipality for several administrations. Currently, there are around 20 stalls offering all kinds of perishable products, including vegetables, legumes, fruits, and different types of meat such as beef, pork, and chicken. There is an area with chairs and tables where visitors can enjoy traditional dishes such as salbutes, panuchos, tortas, and tacos with various fillings. The market is a place filled with history for the families of Tecoh, as well as a gathering spot and a source of basic products for consumption and food.
