Located in the port of El Cuyo, just two blocks from the pier and the beach, is Valerio's restaurant, which offers the so-called ceviche maya. A traditional ceviche from the area that can be ordered with shrimp, octopus, or fish, or if desired, it can be mixed, containing two or all three proteins. For the preparation, the protein is marinated with lemon, salt, and pepper, as well as with toasted pumpkin seeds, a star ingredient in this preparation that gives it a special touch of traditional Yucatecan cuisine. And like any good ceviche, it can't be without tomato, onion, and cilantro. To taste this dish, you will have a portion of tostadas and habanero chilli to give it that seasoning that cannot be missed.
