Ek Balam<\/em> community allows you to discover the richness of Mayan communities, through active participation in several daily activities like hammock weaving, hand-made tortillas elaboration, and embroidering. After visiting Unajil Ek Balam<\/em> tourist look-out, which translates as \u201chouse of the black jaguar\u201d, you will go to the community to walk around the streets of this marvelous village and interact at three different homes, where workshops take place.<\/p>

There is a cooperative in this small village located by the archeological site, formed by cornfield farmers who saw in tourism the opportunity of enhancing their identity and improving their quality of life. At their community tour, you can participate in sewing machine embroidering, hand-made tortillas elaboration, and hammock weaving workshops while you walk around the community with a local guide.<\/p>

The cooperative also offers the opportunity of spending a quiet night in their traditional huts and taste delicious dishes at their dining area.<\/p>
