Hacienda Yaxcopoil gathers the three greatest periods from the past of Yucat\u00e1n: the pre-Hispanic life, the colonial life and the henequen boom of the late 19th<\/sup>\u00a0and early 20th<\/sup> centuries. It was considered one of the most important rustic farms because of its size and magnificence, both for the cattle and henequen industries. However, throughout the years, due to the continuous processes of political social and economic change in the region, its area was reduced to less than 3% of its former area.<\/p>

Today, the hacienda was turned into a private parador and museum, which seeks to show the greatest truthfulness and simplicity, the spaces and furniture that were used in the times of splendor.<\/p>

Of all the haciendas on the peninsula, most of them are semi-destroyed by the relentless effects of time; and just a few of the magnitude of Yaxcopoil have been preserved.<\/p>

Travelling along the road towards the ruins of Uxmal, when passing through Yaxcopoil the building that markedly stands out immediately comes to sight, its monumental double Moorish arch from the colonial period, perhaps the most beautiful in Yucat\u00e1n, which opens the doors of the hacienda to the visitor, making anyone feel specially welcome.<\/p><\/div>
